Cycling the Chilterns: The Big 100 event

We return to the saddle this September with the launch of The Big 100 and a wonderful partnership with UK children’s charity, Spread A Smile.

With two routes to choose from, 45 riders have signed up to commit their pedal-power through The Chilterns on Thursday 14th of September. There is a 100km or a 100miler – both challenging and both taking in L’Etape UK, part of the Tour de France Sportive.

This fully supported all day ride with professional team leaders on each route with vehicle support is the first cycle since 2019 and the advent of the Pandemic.

Adam Carter, Founder and Managing Partner said, “this is the perfect storm with people desperate to get out on their bikes and be challenged since so many events, including our annual cycle ride had to be put on hold. This year’s support from sponsors, riders and our network has been incredible.

“I was a dinner guest at an event hosted by charity, Spread A Smile. I was deeply moved by the work they do with very sick and terminally ill children by arranging entertainment by way of performers, one on one creatives to go into children’s hospital wards and respite to simply put a smile on their faces. It’s also about the families of these children who see a smile and hear a laugh. It is moving. We reached out to the charity and have formed a wonderful partnership for not only this event, but a few other great endeavours to come.”

This year, we welcome Downing LLP as Gold Sponsor and Bracebridge Care as Silver Sponsor. They are in excellent company with Bevan Brittan, Hazlewoods, JEM Property, Precious, DC Advisory, SenseCheck (Digital Partner), Colliers, Connell Consulting, Shawbrook, and HealthInvestor (as our Media Partner).

Registration for the ride, is now closed, however we are continuing to encourage donations with proceeds.

If you would like to donate, it’s not too late – simply following this link to our Just Giving page.

Stay tuned for photos from the day.
