Leading Orthopaedics Business, MatOrtho, has appointed Duncan Wilson as CEO.

Duncan Wilson has been appointed the new CEO of MatOrtho, a leading designer and manufacturer of orthopaedic implant devices.

Duncan brings with him strong leadership experience and a background predominantly in medical devices, where he has scaled and led European businesses to successfully commercialise specialty products.

Duncan joins MatOrtho after being Vice President and General Manager for UK and Ireland and Nordics with Hillrom. Prior to this he was Chief Operating Officer heading up the North Western Europe, UK and Ireland with Fresenius Medical Care. Duncan’s breadth of experience in medical devices, international experience and strong commercial track record made him the natural choice to lead MatOrtho over the next phase of its growth journey.

Leading lower mid-market private equity group Connection Capital invested in MatOrtho in 2021. Connection has provided funding and expertise to support the business in commercialising the existing product portfolio and to further the development of new market leading implant technologies. As part of the strategy, the business has augmented the senior leadership team with new senior appointments, including Simon Cartmell into the business as a Non-Executive Director and David Clapcott as Vice President of Global Sales at the end of last year.
