HealthTech expert and innovator Garry McCord has joined HBSUK as its new CEO to lead the group through its next exciting growth phase.

HBSUK is a leading provider of clinical insourcing services to the NHS. The group was established in 2012 by accomplished healthcare professional and entrepreneur, Mark Fountain, who now moves to Executive Chair. Garry’s appointment plays a crucial part in the next phase of growth, furthering their work as one of the few truly tech-enabled players in the space.

Garry grew up in Servelec and held numerous senior positions including Chief Product Officer, COO and divisional CEO. Following a long story of growth and a very successful exit from Montagu to The Access Group, he stayed to ensure the business was integrated to its full potential. Garry brings to HBSUK extensive experience of scaling a pioneering business that was a true partner to the NHS for many years.

HBSUK helps healthcare providers reduce waiting times by providing outpatient services and on-site clinical capacity. The business has experienced rapid growth following ballooning NHS waiting lists in elective care following Covid-19. HBSUK is the front-end digital services provider to AXA Health for MSK and Dermatology. As such, this business is considered a trusted and leading insourcing and outpatient services provider working in both the private and NHS market across the UK.

Founder and Executive Chair of HBSUK, Mark Fountain said, “data suggests that the current number of patients on a surgical wait list for treatment is around 7.2 million (data obtained from December 2022 British Medical Association). HBSUK has successfully helped with waiting list reductions by doing insourcing on the weekends and evenings and also transferring increasing numbers of patients to digital pathways giving them more control over their own health.  The future is ‘blended pathways’, allowing patients to seamlessly move between digital and physical services.  HBSUK is the only current provider able to offer this end-to-end service or provide a product (Virtual Lucy) that allows Healthcare Providers to do this themselves”.
