Who we are

Adam brings nearly three decades of recruitment experience and is seen as a trusted adviser through consistently addressing the C-suite management and leadership challenges for major providers, emerging corporates, not-for-profits and the investment community. Prior to the inception of Carter Schwartz, Adam was a Partner and Principal with WTH. Adam has a keen understanding of human dynamics and provides candid, thoughtful feedback that generates deep insight. During the pandemic, Adam hosted a number of Wine Cellar Podcasts opening his personal wine cellar to share his love of wine with a number of key leaders in the healthcare and social care sector.

Sharon is a senior member of the Carter Schwartz management team. She brings career-long exposure to HR and executive search and is extensively networked throughout the health and social care sectors. A founding partner of Carter Schwartz, Sharon leads on the client and candidate experience alongside operational responsibility for the consultant and research teams. Sharon encourages a healthy work environment for all. Having recently completed a diploma in aromatherapy, she finds pilates and dance based exercise a great outlet for focus and fitness.

Scott brings more than 15 years’ experience of international executive search, having placed global leadership roles for some of the world’s largest and most successful Life Sciences and MedTech companies. He specialises in Board and senior executive mandates, partnering with private equity investors and their portfolio businesses. Scott holds a degree in Film from the University of East London and previously produced content for clients including BT, Schroders, Scottish Widows and the BBC. He enjoys socialising with friends over dinner and keeping fit. As he gets older, he is finding more of the latter is needed to counteract the former.

Matt is a senior researcher supporting the consultant team in the search for Board level executives. He has a unique ability to share relevant information and mentor his team ensuring that they are able to offer the best possible service to clients and maintain exceptional standards. Combined with a passion for understanding human behaviour and motivations, he has worked with a vast range of markets. Matt’s career began in game design having obtained a degree in Games and Interactive Media Design. He continues that passion for gaming - both designing and playing games that push the boundaries of the interactive experience. Matt also plays golf on a real golf course rather than online.

Thom is a dynamic researcher, bringing a diverse background and distinct outlook to his work. His prior experience in the hospitality sector has sharpened his interpersonal skills and deepened his understanding of client requirements. Thom graduated with an Architecture degree from the University of Nottingham which provides him with a unique blend of analytical thinking and creative problem-solving. Beyond his professional pursuits, Thom's passion for music means he immerses himself in lively events and festivals, while his love for films and culinary adventures fills his spare time with creative inspiration.

Aaron has a degree in Law from the University of the West of England. While studying at university, Aaron worked part-time as an In-Store Development Executive for Samsung moving to a permanent role with them once he graduated. He spent two years as an Area Development Manager taking his area from sixth in the region to second within a 12-month period. In 2022 he joined the world of IT Recruitment as a 360 Consultant specialising in IT Infrastructure for London. Aaron’s ability to develop relationships with clients and candidates has allowed him to confidently map a market and target candidates that evoke excitement in clients. Aaron is a long-standing Aston Villa supporter and when he isn’t working at a desk or working out in the gym, enjoys family time and is currently learning to speak Spanish.

Having spent 25 years in recruitment, Becky is an experienced office administrator who works closely with the research and consultant teams to support the candidate journey. Her efficiency and attention to detail ensures that diaries are managed in a timely manner and that candidates and records are kept up to date. Becky has a passion for travelling, sighting one of her favourite destinations as Cyprus.

Michâela is an expert in creating highly effective communication strategies and partnerships. She is responsible for building the brand and designing engaging content relevant for candidates and clients. She prides herself with thinking fast on her feet, being resourceful and finding creative solutions to challenging problems. Michâela earned a BA in Communications & Public Relations from the University of Central Queensland, a post-grad in Professional Communications with a focus on digital from the University of Southern Queensland and Masters in Art History through the Royal College of Art. When she isn’t in work mode, she is on the tennis court, on a surf board, in a yoga studio or in an art gallery. Not at the same time.

Giles stepped down from the role of Managing Partner at consultancy CIL in June 2022 after 26 years at the firm. He led the Healthcare and (latterly) Education practices for 20 of those years, with a particular focus on strategy consulting and commercial due diligence for private equity and other institutional investors. During his time at the firm, it grew from a near start-up to over 200 staff across four countries. Having known Carter Schwartz and Adam for many years, he is now helping the firm to scale. He also remains NED at CIL, is NED with digital health business Sleepstation and advises a family investment office. He has a politics degree from Bristol University. He keeps fit(ish) by swimming and walking and his main passions outside work are cricket and family. His family would argue in that order.
